My name was Laurence. I lived in the Middle Ages. I was born in Suffolk in 1200A.D. and died in 1240 A.D.
My job was a Vir-Ren Castle gatekeeper, so I lived in Vir-Ren Castle in Suffolk. The castle was very important at that time. It was the most fantastic thing in the town. I was proud of myself because I can live in the castle and work for the king. My job is to protect the king, and don't let the stranger enter the castle. Every day, I have to wake up at 6:00a.m. and watch the gate until the other gatekeeper comes to work.
I think that job is boring,but I love it because I can earn a lot of money and I can have enough food to eat and have place to live. All gatekeepers are friendly to each other. At that time, the king was very kind, so all the town people and the workers were so relax. When we have spare time, we will play with each other. There was a good place to live.

Wow, what an original profession - gatekeeper! I definitely want to know more: what did you guys play; how much were you paid; where did you live? This is fascinating; it seems as though you had the best job in the kingdom, other than being the king, of course!
