They use Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo as examples of Renaissance men because their art were colourful and mainly about daily life. And Leonardo had a new painting style, such as The Mona Lisa. He used the three-dimensional effect in the painting.And Michelangelo made the famous sculpture, the Pieta. It looks like real and life-like.
There are differences between Renaissance men and the typical characters in the Middle Ages.Medieval artists were dull and their art was not lively.They only made paintings and sculptures about religion. But Renaissance men made the art was more colourful and realistic. And their sculptures were look real and lively.
